Les Halles Universitaires
As part of the Réappropriations exhibition, the ICA is taking over the Halles Universitaires designed by architect Yves Lepère (1972-1976), a building that is emblematic of Louvain-la-Neuve and its modernist heritage, with the aim of highlighting its recent renovation. The necessary energy renovation to adapt the building to today's needs has not altered the language of this remarkable building, which embodies the values of the new town and questions our relationship with the heritage of Louvain-la-Neuve.
On Sunday 22 October at 11am, the ICA welcomes you to Les Halles for a guided tour of the Reappropriations exhibition. You will then be invited to discover Les Halles through the eyes of Joseph Polet (co-author of Les Halles Universitaires and its renovation) and Carole Deferière (UCL's heritage buildings studies administrator), who will lead a two-voice guided tour of the building.
