Open call : ACROSS 2024-2025

Have you recently graduated as an architect? Are you doing your internship or have you just completed it? Are you in the process of setting up your own practice or have you been self-employed for less than 5 years?

Candidate for Across in Residence !

This year, ICA is teaming up with the Vlaams Architectuurinstituut (VAi) and A+ Architecture in Belgium for a revisited edition of Across in 2024-2025, a residency programme for young practising architects on the theme of 'autonomous practice'.

Across in Residence offers personalised support to young architects under the supervision of : Pauline Fockedey (Nord) and Theo De Meyer. For four months, the eight offices/architects selected will be guided individually and as a group towards a collective project to be presented to the public in the summer of 2025 in Brussels. Two public evenings will report on their progress in Liège and Antwerp throughout the year.

The eight architects selected (based in Belgium: 4 French-speaking, 4 Dutch-speaking) will have different profiles. They work on a large or small scale, individually or in collaboration, in a theoretical, speculative or even utopian way. They will be specifically chosen to represent a broad cross-section of today's young Belgian architectural scene.

How to participate ?

Your application file will include:
– Your curriculum vitae, including 5 years of professional experience as an architect.
– Your portfolio, including at least 4 completed projects.
– A descriptive note of intent of your independent practice, describing the subject of your research/parallel practice and the production that you wish to develop.
