Tales of an Inhabited Territory
"The proposed experience here is built around a long field survey consisting of encountering Walcourt's landscape through the eyes of its inhabitants, rereading it through old and contemporary cartographic and bibliographic material, discovering and experiencing it by crossing it in all directions. It is born from the conviction that it is from what is close and intimate to us in our living spaces that we can feel concerned, animated and committed to the political issues of living together. The result is ten thematic maps (three of which are on display here), reflecting the complexity, reasons and paradoxes of different relationships to the territory, and proposing walking itineraries. Ten maps that summon up different graphic regimes and encourage everyone to grasp, through experience, the full depth of these landscapes and raise questions about how we inhabit the world together."
A project presented for the first time in the exhibition "L'architecture monte dans les tours", which took place in September 2021 at the Eden cultural center in Charleroi.
