From 2 October to 26 November 2024, ICA is organising a series of four meetings in Brussels and Wallonia to discuss the issues and challenges facing rural areas with Belgian and international architects, urban planners and citizens' groups.

A round table discussion with :

• Charlotte Renouprez (Les équipes populaires, présidente) & Jean-Michel Leclercq (author and journalist) conducted a survey : Foncier droit dans le mur for the magazine Dérivations #9
• LRArchitectes (Architects based in Walhain since 2021 and multiple winners of the Grand Prix d'Architecture de Wallonie)
• Sébastien Lacomblez (artist, head of the ARTS2 Urban Design workshop in Mons) publication in Dérivations #9

• Stefan Devoldere & Maarten Liefooghe (architects and co-editors of Oase #117 Project Village)
• 100 villages et 1 avenir (local action group based in Ostbelgien and funded by the LEADER programme)

  and Director of the Institute of Urban Planning at Graz University of Technology)
• Norbert Nelles (architect, co-founder of Artau 1984-2002, lecturer and co-dean of the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Liège, 2011)
• Ward Verbakel (engineer-architect PLUSOFFICE, urban planner and teacher, author of the book Toolbox dorpse architectuur: Boîte à outils de l'architecture villageoise, a co-production of AR-Tur asbl and KU Leuven)
